Barrie Police are confirming a case of intimate partner violence after two people were found dead inside a north-end home.
The bodies were located inside a residence on Peregrine Road, in the area of St. Vincent Street and Osprey Ridge Road
Investigators say officers were called to the home on Saturday for a well-being check. Inside, they found a 46-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman deceased.
Police now say the woman's death has been ruled a homicide, while the man is believed to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
A firearm was recovered at the scene.
Authorities say there are no outstanding suspects and no charges are expected.
Out of respect for the family, police will not be releasing any names.

Barrie Police said on Monday afternoon that the two people found dead in a north-end home on Saturday are a 45-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman.
Both are from the city.
At this time, police are not seeking any suspects.
They have cleared from the Peregrine Road home, located near St. Vincent Street and Osprey Ridge Road.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.

Barrie Police are investigating after two people were found dead at a Peregrine Road home in the city's north end Saturday morning.
In a social media post, police said officers discovered the man and woman during a well-being check at the residence located in the area of St. Vincent Street and Osprey Ridge Road.
Yellow police tape is wrapped around the home and a car parked on the road in front of the residence.

Around 11 a.m., there were several police vehicles at the home and one parked in the backyard.
"The victims are believed to be known to each other, and the incident appears isolated," police stated on social media.
They add that there will be a police presence in the area as the investigation continues.
