A Barrie man is being accused of leaving his injured passengers to fend for themselves, after a crash in Essa.
A witness to the collision tells police he was overtaken by a high speed vehicle on 20th Sideroad near County Road 56 around 9:00 Saturday night; the high speed vehicle then lost control and went into the ditch.
The driver allegedly fled the scene of the crash, leaving two injured passengers behind. One of the two was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A 24-year-old Barrie man turned himself in the next day, now facing a list of charges and a mid-November court date.
