Numerous charges have been laid against two Innisfil men as a result of an armed robbery investigation.

Just before 1 a.m. on Wednesday, South Simcoe Police responded to a report of an armed robbery in the area of Coleman Crescent and Ferguson Street in Alcona. Two individuals said they were robbed at gunpoint while sitting in a vehicle. There were no injuries as a result of the incident.

When police arrived at Huron Crescent, two males fled the area on foot and headed into a home. The house was contained, and one male complied with demands to exit and was arrested without incident. The second male did not follow orders from police.

Members from the OPP's Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Crisis Negotiation, Canine and Emergency Response Team (ERT) were deployed to the scene. The area was contained and safely evacuated with no threat to the public.

Around 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, the OPP made contact with the male who surrendered to police and was taken into custody without incident.
