Two people arrested Thursday after a traffic stop in Huntsville turned nasty

A woman is accused of driving her car at police

This is proof there is no such thing as a routine traffic stop.

Police in Huntsville pulled over a car Thursday afternoon on Brunel Road and during the stop discovered drugs in the vehicle.

OPP said officers suffered minor injuries when a man who allegedly provided false identification resisted arrest.

Once they got him calmed down, officers said the woman driver drove her car at police, then swerved at the last second and fled the scene.

She tried to avoid a spike belt on Muskoka Road 10 and nearly struck a police cruiser.

In an attempt to flee again, the woman backed into a ditch where police boxed her in.

A 37-year-old North York man and a 25-year-old Brampton woman face a total of 18 charges including assault police, drug trafficking and property obtained by crime.
