South Simcoe Police and Orillia OPP charged two drivers on Friday after hitting speeds over 165 km/h.

South Simcoe Police say they stopped an 18-year-old on the 9th line in Bradford going 174 km/h in a 60 zone.

The driver, who had a G2 license, had their vehicle impounded and their licence suspended.

OPP also caught a speedster on Hwy. 11 southbound in Oro-Medonte. Police say the driver was clocked at 168 km/h in a 90 zone.

The 41-year-old from Barrie was charged with stunt driving. His licence was suspended for 30 days and he won’t have his vehicle due to a 14-day impound.

OPP reminds the public to “respect our communities, comply with all laws, and not jeopardize the safety of our citizens or our neighborhoods with risky, illegal, and dangerous actions.”
