South Simcoe Police have charged a motorist in a two-vehicle crash in Innisfil on May 11 this year that claimed the life of a 33-year-old Barrie woman.

Around 1: 55 a.m, police responded to a collision in the area of Yonge Street and the 9th Line.

"The investigation revealed that a Chevrolet Impala and a Volkswagen Jetta were travelling in opposite directions when the Impala crossed into the oncoming lane and struck the Jetta head-on," police said in a news release on Wednesday.

The driver of the Impala was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an investigation, including a review of the toxicology report for the driver of the Jetta, police charged a 32-year-old Bradford woman with impaired driving.
