Wasaga Beach is bracing for what town officials say is "another unauthorized car rally."
The town is not unfamiliar with such activities.
An unauthorized car rally was held over three days in the community last September that resulted in 70 vehicles being towed and dozens of charges laid by the Ontario Provincial Police including 22 for stunt driving.
At another rally in 2020, police blocked entrances to Wasaga Beach and turned away motorists who did not live in the town.
In a Twitter post on Friday afternoon, Huronia West OPP said that to ensure road user safety, they have increased officer presence this weekend.
As part of our efforts to ensure road user safety #HURWOPP has an increased officer presence this weekend.
