Underage driver charged after attempting to avoid RIDE check in Bradford: SSP

An underage driver faces charges after South Simcoe Police say he attempted to avoid a Festive RIDE check in Bradford.

On Friday around 9:15 p.m., police were conducting stops in the Marshview Boulevard and Morris Road area.

"Officers observed a vehicle travelling eastbound do a U-turn to avoid the spot check," police wrote in a release on Monday. "Officers conducted a vehicle stop and discovered the driver was underage and did not possess a licence."

A 15-year-old Bradford boy was charged with:

  • Drive Motor Vehicle - No Licence
  • Young Driver - Blood Alcohol Concentration Above Zero

The vehicle was towed from the scene.
