Underconsumption-core" videos highlight what a typical person uses in their day-to-day life, and it's not fancy gadgets and overpriced food storage containers.

Examples include:
Using an old plastic container to store spices.
Having only a few beauty products.
Using raggedy towels for cleaning.
Having thrifted furniture.
Mismatched plates.
Just one water bottle per person. (These are pricey! No need to spend a week's worth of groceries on a water bottle)

Another good example is fixing things instead of tossing them. For example, you can mend a rip in your clothes instead of shelling cash for a new item.

These things are completely normal, but many standard " influencer " videos have convinced us otherwise, making us feel pressured to buy new stuff.

That's why "underconsumption- core" videos are being praised for their authenticity and tips on how to save a few bucks.

For ideas on how people are embracing "Underconsumption" or normal consumption, just head to TikTok. You'll find normal people like you. Although you will find a lot of these video like to use Norah Jones music in background.
