
Provincial police say about $11,000 in unmarked cigarettes were seized after responding to a collision on Highway 89 over the weekend.
The single-vehicle crash happened Sunday afternoon around 3:50 near a Highway 400 ramp
"Officers noticed a large quantity of unmarked cigarettes inside," police wrote in a post on the OPP Central Region X account.
"After contacting the Ministry of Finance and reporting their observations, officers were granted authority to search the vehicle under the Tobacco Tax Act."

A 68-year-old Bradford driver faces charges including:
- Possess unmarked fine cut tobacco for sale
- Possess unmarked fine cut tobacco
- Turn - not in safety
"Reminder: It's illegal to possess, distribute, or sell unmarked cigarettes. Nottawasaga OPP continues to work with partner agencies to address illegal activities and keep our roads safe," police said.
