Vacant home goes up in flames in south-east Barrie

The house was slated for demolition, according to the fire department

A vacant home on Mapleview Drive East, just east of Prince William Way, went up in flames on Sunday afternoon.

Fire crews received the alarm call around 5 p.m.

A fire department spokesperson tells Barrie 360 that the home was slated for demolition.

There were no injuries.

The spokesperson added that the Ontario Fire Marshal will be alerted as it meets the criteria.

Crews will be back on scene Monday looking for a cause of the blaze.
