A man was taken into custody by Barrie Police Saturday morning after reports of vandalism and destruction of property in downtown Barrie.

At 5:48 AM Barrie Police responded to downtown Barrie after receiving a report of a male who was allegedly breaking the windows of local businesses and nearby parked vehicles.

The man was located, arrested, and will be facing mischief-related charges.

The investigation is ongoing.

Upon responding to the scene, police closed Dunlop Street between Mary Street and Maple Avenue, where paramedics were also spotted on-scene earlier.
