Vehicle rollover in Huntsville results in drug charges

Huntsville OPP have laid charges against an impaired male driver after his vehicle flipped over on Highway 11 on Wednesday.

At 7:15a.m., officers were notified by ONSTAR of a collision on the northbound side of the highway near Stephenson Road 12 with reports indicating the vehicle was on its roof.  

Police attended the scene assisted by Muskoka EMS, who determined the driver to to be uninjured, but police determined the driver to be impaired.

The 26-year-old man from North York was booked on impaired driving, two counts of cocaine possession for the purpose of trafficking, failing to comply with a probation order, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available.

His driver's licence was suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven.

Later, he was held for a bail hearing at a later date in Bracebridge.
