Rash of vehicle thefts at Orillia Rec Centre

Police say thieves are stealing car keys from change room lockers

The Orillia Recreation Centre on West Street has become a popular place for vehicle thefts.

Numerous thefts are being investigated, OPP said in a news release on Tuesday.

"The investigation shows that unknown persons are entering change rooms and taking car keys from victims' lockers."

To prevent yourself from being a victim, Orillia OPP are offering these tips:

-       Bring a lock and lock your locker;

-       Do not leave valuables in plain view;

-       Alternate your parking spots;

-       Park in well lit areas; and

-       Beware of surroundings
