Unfortunately for a local business, the third attempt was the charm for a man and woman.
Barrie police say just before midnight on Tuesday, the pair were on Patterson Road where they went to a business and tried to pry open the locked doors of a company vehicle. After that failed, they cut the fence to an adjacent business and tried to access two recreational vehicles locked in a rear compound. After striking out there, they went to an automotive repair shop and broke into a locked drop box at the front of the business where keys for vehicles needing repair had been left.
According to police, the suspects took two sets of keys and then drove off in a pair of vehicles that were parked on the property.
"The first vehicle stolen is described as a white 2017 GMC Terrain, licence BFRF347 and the other was a 2020 silver 4-door Kia Forte, licence CPVZ031. Both vehicles were captured on video surveillance and were last seen travelling southbound on Patterson Road," police said in a news release on Thursday.
The suspects responsible are described as:
- Male white, 20-30 years old, skinny build, wearing a white Adidas hoodie with a grey and blue jacket over top, grey pants and black work boots carrying a large black bag.
- Female white,18-25 years old, skinny build, wearing a brown/purple hoodie with a yellow scarf, black jacket overtop, black pants with white and black Nike shoes, carrying a small blue backpack.
