
Provincial police have laid a slew of charges against three people after a resident on Southwood Road in Gravenhurst called Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to report a man showed up at his door around 6:30 p.m. Friday seeking help.
"The man described that he had been at a nearby residence and suffered harm, however, he was able to flee on foot to find help," OPP said in a news release.
Paramedics treated the injured man.
"The Muskoka Crime Unit with the support of the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), the OPP K9 Unit, and Bracebridge OPP detachment members executed a search warrant at the involved address and have taken three people into custody," police stated.
Three suspects from Gravenhurst, ages 26, 33 and 52, have been charged with numerous weapons offences including robbery with a firearm, as well as forcible confinement, assault, assault with a weapon, and theft of a motor vehicle.
Two were also charged with failing to comply with a probation order.
