Voting in Barrie's municipal election is underway

News release from the City of Barrie

Starting today at 10 a.m., eligible Barrie voters can cast their ballot in the 2022 Municipal Election. Eligible voters have until Oct. 24 at 8 p.m. to cast their vote for the offices of Mayor, City Councillor and School Board Trustee.

Electors who are on the voters' list should have received a voter information letter in the mail. Each voter information letter contains an individual voter pin number and instructions for voting either online or by phone in Barrie's 2022 Municipal Election. If you require assistance, please call 705-728-8683 (VOTE), email Be.Counted@barrie.ca, or visit a Voting Assistance Centre or Vote Bus (details below).

Please note: a candidate or a member of their team cannot assist a voter in the voting process and a voter should not provide their PIN number to anyone.

If you do not have a voter PIN or require assistance voting, the following in-person options are available:

City Hall Voting Assistance Centre
A Voting Assistance Centre will be open at City Hall, 70 Collier Street, on the following dates and times.

Sunday, October 1610 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Monday, October 178:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday, October 188:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Wednesday, October 198:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Thursday, October 208:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday, October 218:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday, October 229 a.m. to 5 p.m.

City-wide Voting Assistance Centres

In addition to City Hall in Ward 2, a Voting Assistance Centre will be set up in all other wards.
