Wanted Woman Accidentally Dialed 911
Markdale Woman Mistakenly Turned Herself In
A woman told Grey County OPP she dialed 911 in error, but they cuffed her anyway.
Police responded to the errant 911 call just before 11:00 Monday morning, coming from a cellphone in Markdale. They showed up and spoke to a woman who claimed the call was in error, that she was just setting up a new phone and there was no emergency.
A quick check of the crime computer showed the woman was wanted by Barrie Police on an outstanding arrest warrant. She was cuffed and turned over to the local law. Barrie Police tell us the criminal charges she faces are very minor in nature.
A 39-year-old man at the home was also charged, as police say he was under court-ordered conditions not to be in that particular house.
