George Mavrogiannis of Wasaga Beach has $68,659 to put toward his dreams after winning a Lotto Max second prize in the July 12, 2024 draw.
George, a retired restaurateur, has been playing the lottery with OLG for about 30 years. He has enjoyed playing Lotto Max since its launch in 2009. George always plays the same numbers, which correlate to special dates and ages. His lucky numbers led him to the OLG Prize Centre to celebrate his first big win!
“It was shortly after midnight when I checked the winning numbers on the OLG app,” said George, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim his winnings.
“I was looking back and forth, from the phone to my ticket. I knew the numbers I played and couldn’t believe what I was seeing!” Amid his astonishment, George woke his wife. “At first, she thought something was wrong, but once I told her the good news, she was shocked. It definitely woke her up,” he smiled.
“Winning is almost euphoric! Honestly, I think I’m still processing it,” George laughed.
With his windfall, George plans to embark on a cruise and upgrade vehicles.
