$100,000 lotto winner from Wasaga Beach says 'I was left shocked'

Saying “yes” to ENCORE paid off for Danny Saroff of Wasaga Beach. He matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the February 15, 2025 LOTTO 6/49 draw to win $100,000!

Danny, a retiree, has been playing the lottery with OLG for more than three decades. He makes sure to pick up his LOTTO 6/49, LOTTO MAX, ONTARIO 49, LOTTARIO, and DAILY GRAND tickets for each draw. This dedication has now paid off, leading the father of two to his first big win!

“It was about a week after I’d purchased my tickets that I went to the store to use the ticket checker to see how I did,” Danny recalled, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I had some modest wins on a few of my tickets, but when I scanned the last one, my LOTTO 6/49, I saw $100,000 on the screen. I was left shocked. It was a surreal feeling to win that amount.”

Danny first shared the astonishing news with his wife. “She came into the store, and I said, ‘You won’t believe this! I won $100,000!’ I watched her jaw drop in disbelief,” Danny smiled, remembering the moment fondly. “We were both overcome with emotion. We’ve kept the news to ourselves since but are looking forward to sharing with our family soon.”

“Winning this prize provides financial freedom,” said Danny. “With my winnings, I will pay some bills and look forward to purchasing a new boat,” he concluded with a big smile.
