OPP seize drugs, charge Wasaga Beach woman following investigation

Huronia West OPP have arrested and charged a 44-year-old Wasaga Beach woman as part of a drug investigation.

In September, the Huronia West Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) initiated a drug trafficking investigation, arresting a 34-year-old Collingwood man - charged with several offences, including firearms, drug trafficking, and domestic-related.

OPP say a suspect was identified in relation to this investigation.

"On November 20, 2023, at approximately 11:00 p.m., the accused was observed travelling to the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)," police wrote in a release on Wednesday.

"CSCU from Huronia West and Collingwood were able to intercept the accused as they entered the area of the Huronia West Detachment and conducted a traffic stop."

A woman faces the following charges:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Cocaine
  • of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Breach of Conditional Sentence Order (CSO)

Police say the following was seized:

  • 39.2 grams of cocaine
  • 0.4 grams of crack cocaine
  • 0.2 grams of fentanyl
  • Digital scales
  • Indicia of trafficking
  • $734.70 Canadian Currency

She was held for bail.
