A person has been charged in connection with a fire at the Villa Nova Motel in Wasaga Beach.

Ontario Provincial Police say that on Mar. 9, shortly before midnight, emergency crews responded to the blaze on Mosley Street.

Everyone inside was able to evacuate safely, and no injuries were reported.

This week, police arrested a 58-year-old suspect from Wasaga Beach and charged them with arson, disregard for human life, and failing to comply with an undertaking.

The accused has a court date on Oct. 27.
