Huronia West OPP is investigating after a female suffered a gunshot wound at a Wasaga Beach residence on Thursday evening.
Just before 11:00 p.m., provincial police, along with paramedics, responded to a 9-1-1 call for a shooting at a residence on Bianca Crescent.
Officers located the woman and transported her to a hospital where she was treated and released with non-life threatening injuries.
The OPP Canine Unit along with Emergency Response Team Members assisted in the investigation, however, were unable to locate any involved suspects, who police say are believed to have fled northbound in the area of Allegra Drive.
Investigators say they believe that this is not random but rather a targeted isolated incident.
OPP reminds the public to be aware of their personal safety at all times.
Further updates will be provided when new information becomes available.
Police are asking residents in the surrounding areas if they witnessed anything to contact them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477. If any member of the public has video surveillance capturing anything suspicious, please contact investigators.
