A traffic stop led to much more for Bracebridge OPP.

Police say they pulled over a vehicle for speeding last Saturday on Muskoka Road 169 near Acton Island Road in Muskoka Lakes Township.

One person in the vehicle told the officer they needed medical care. Paramedics transported them to hospital for an unrelated and non-life-threatening condition, police said.

Officers continued their investigation and laid 14 criminal charges and several Highway Traffic Act offences against a 34-year-old Port Carling resident. Most of the charges were drug and weapon-related, though the person was also charged with impaired driving, obstructing police, breach of recognizance, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime, and impersonation with intent to avoid arrest.

The other suspect, a 43-year-old from Barrie, was charged with a total of 8 drug and weapon-related offences.
