Who’s it going to be? Nominations for Canada’s Top Mayor have begun

"A celebration of our great Canadian Mayors"

Barrie entrepreneurs Dawn Mucci and Tammy-Ann Chapman want to change the tone of politics in Canada.

Tired of the negativity, divisiveness, and lack of positive engagement in politics they have begun accepting nominations for Canada’s Top Mayor.

“It’s all about bridging the communication gap on shared priorities between Municipal leaders and the people they represent. This Award isn’t just a competition. It’s a celebration of our great Canadian Mayors, the communities that support them, and the businesses that help sustain them.” – Canada’s Top Mayor Co-Founder Tammy-Ann Chapman

Mucci and Chapman say the real winners will be the communities whose profiles will be raised and their local work highlighted. The winning municipality will get to present their community improvement initiative or charity of choice with the funds raised through competition sponsorship.

The contest is open to mayors of cities with populations of 100,000 or more

“We have some really great mayors here in Canada and I wanted to find a way to recognize what they do.” – founder Dawn Mucci

The nomination period began today (February 2) with three categories:

  • Leadership
  • Talent / Sportsmanship
  • Vision, Growth Strategy & Progress

Public voting will take place between May and November with the top three mayors moving on to a nine-member judges panel.

The Winning Mayor will be contacted after December 23 and announced shortly after.
