Barrie's 'Million Dollar Man, Will Dwyer has passed away

Will Dwyer has passed away.

His family says he died peacefully in his sleep Saturday morning at RVH.

A relentless supporter of the local Terry Fox Run, he raised more than $1.2 million for the cause over four decades.

His son, Rob, says his dad put everyone he met in life ahead of himself.

He served in the military for 25 years, including World War II, was awarded a Queen's Jubilee Medal, and Barrie's Spirit Catcher Award.

The Dwyer Family would like to thank all of Will's followers and supporters who believed in him and his efforts over four decades.

Will Dwyer was 96.
