Woman allegedly sexually assaulted in a Barrie park Thursday night

Investigators said the woman was walking her dog at the time

Barrie Police is investigating an alleged sexual assault of a woman who was walking her dog in Hurst Park between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1.

The park is located on Hurst Drive near Purt Court, north of Big Bay Point Road.

Investigators are appealing to the public for assistance. They will be conducting a canvass in the area of Hurst Drive and are asking anyone with video surveillance to contact police.

Detectives have released a suspect description:

  • Male, white, between 16 and 26 years of age, 5’8 with a slim build and shaved blonde hair.
  • Wearing an Under Armour top unknown colour
