A 47-year-old Alliston woman has been charged after Barrie police were alerted shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday about a suspected impaired driver who drove over a curb on Anne Street North and was causing a disturbance in front of a nearby home.
When officers arrived at the scene, police say the female was walking away from her car and appeared very unsteady on her feet.
"When the police caught up to her and engaged in conversation, it was obvious that she was impaired. She was immediately arrested and transported to Barrie Police Headquarters for further investigation," police said in a news release.
A series of tests, according to police, revealed the woman was three times over the legal limit for alcohol.
She was charged with impaired driving.
Her driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days, and her car has been impounded for seven days.
The woman has a court date in September.
