Woman charged in credit card thefts at Wasaga Beach

Cars used to buy prepaid Visa cards

A 29-year-old Wasaga Beach woman has been charged with Fraud and Possession Of Property Obtained By Crime.

An OPP investigation began with reports of a theft from a vehicle on Shore Lane. That led police to evidence of stolen credit cards and chequebooks from several vehicles.

The stolen cards were used to purchase prepaid Visa cards.

Police remind motorists to lock their vehicles, even if left unattended for a short period of time and pocket their keys. Any valuables left in a vehicle should be either removed from the vehicle or locked away in the trunk or stored out of plain view.
