30-year-old Jesse Deschamps of Penetanguishene was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The accused was arrested on Monday and has been charged with first-degree murder, mischief over $5,000, and obstruct a peace officer.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) issued a public appeal earlier this summer for any information someone might have about the case.

At the time of the appeal, police released a composite sketch that was created by an OPP forensic team to help identify a person that the OPP wanted to speak with.

The accused, who is from Penetanguishene, remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
