Barrie fire crews rescued a woman from a seventh-floor apartment after she became trapped in the unit.
Fire officials say she was transported to a local hospital.
Emergency crews responded around 11 p.m. Sunday to the blaze at a building on Duckworth Street near Bell Farm Road in the city's east end.
All other residents were able to return to their units shortly after two Monday morning.
The Ontario Fire Marshal has been notified.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
