An eventful traffic stop for South Simcoe Police.

Shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, police say a vehicle was clocked at a speed of 126 km/h per hour in a 60 km/h zone in the village of Churchill.

Police say the woman refused to identify herself and assaulted an officer when she was being arrested.

A taser was used, say police, to safely take the driver into custody.

A 24-year-old Thornhill woman has been charged with assaulting police, obstructing police, speeding, stunt driving and failing to surrender her driver's licence.

She was released with a future court date.

Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for 14 days.
