A 40-year-old Midland man has been charged with impaired driving after Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say he was pulled over travelling the wrong way on Highway 11 in Gravenhurst.

Around 2:15 Sunday morning, provincial police say they located a vehicle going southbound in the northbound lanes.

The driver was also charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle.

He has a court date in November.

"Impaired driving continues to be a significant factor affecting the safety of Muskoka roads," police said in a news release.
