Wrong way driver on Highway 400 charged with impaired driving

OPP

Southern Georgian Bay OPP say a wrong way driver on Highway 400 near Tay Township is facing multiple charges including impaired driving.

Officers received a call from a motorist just before 3:30 a.m., on Sunday, May 22, about a vehicle travelling southbound in the northbound lanes.

Police stopped the driver safely near Quarry Road.

After speaking with the driver, officers entered a drinking and driving investigation.

As a result, a 60-year-old Sequin Township man faces multiple charges including dangerous operation, and operation while impaired.

The accused was released on a recognizance to appear in court at the beginning of June and also faces a drivers licence suspension, and vehicle impoundment.
