One dead in house fire in the Town of Georgina

Officers say they found the home fully engulfed in flames when they arrived
York Regional Police

York Regional Police say they are investigating after a person died in a house fire in the Town of Georgina.

The fatal fire happened on Friday, May 20, shortly after 3 p.m., when first responders were called to a residence on Highway 48, near High Street.

Officers say the home was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived.

One person was located inside the house deceased.

Georgina Fire and Rescue Servies extinguished the fire.
