Barrie police are looking for a driver following a fail-to-remain incident on Tuesday where a young cyclist was struck.

Officers say the driver is a female in her 20s with blue colouring in her hair and black pants, while the vehicle is described as a small red four-door car.

The incident happened around 9:00 a.m. on Little Avenue near Firman Drive.

Peter Leon, communications co-ordinator for the Barrie Police Service, told Barrie 360 that the cyclist was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries - did not know the extent of them.

A man in a truck also stopped afterwards and may be a witness.

Leon added that with warmer weather on the way, more pedestrians and cyclists are likely to be out on the streets and drivers should be extra cautious and diligent.

If you have any information regarding the incident, email Constable Claridge at eclaridge@barriepolice.ca.
