Young teen charged with robbery at an Alcona convenience store

The suspect was tackled by other individuals in the store

A robbery attempt at a convenience store in Alcona didn’t go off as planned for the suspect.

South Simcoe Police were called to the store at a plaza on Innisfil Beach Road shortly after 11 p.m. on Thursday and were told a person wearing a ski mask demanded money and threatened the clerk while carrying what appeared to be a handgun.

The clerk realized the gun was a fake and two other people in the store tackled the suspect to the ground and held him for police.

A 16-year-old from Innisfil faces four charges including robbery and using an imitation firearm.
