Youth Haven Boxes of Hope campaign raises thousands of dollars

Funds were used to buy presents for homeless youth and those at risk of homelessness

News release – from Youth Haven

Thanks to the generosity of many individuals, schools, churches, businesses and other organizations, the Youth Haven Boxes of Hope campaign was able to raise nearly $57,000 to ensure youth in our care had a Christmas this holiday season.

While Christmas looked a little different again this year, our youth were still able to open presents and enjoy delicious food and treats made possible by donations from across our coverage area, including Barrie, Orillia and Simcoe County.

Our communities came together once again to ensure that youth in emergency, transitional and outreach care woke up on Christmas morning with gifts under the tree and support throughout the year. But most importantly, this gave our youth a sense of belonging, love and the knowledge that someone cared enough to contribute to their well-being.

On behalf of our youth, our staff and board of directors, we can’t thank you enough for supporting our efforts to provide the best care we can give to any youth experiencing homelessness or at risk of being homeless.

We are grateful to everyone who chose to be the difference in helping us change a life, for the better.
