Police added that it's too early in the investigation and no other details are available.

A lockdown at the school, in the area of Prince William Way and Mapleview Drive East, has since been lifted. A hold-and-secure remains in place, police said, as officers search for more evidence.

A spokesperson for the Simcoe County District School Board told Barrie 360 that more information will be shared with families.
