A 26- year-old is facing numerous firearm and drug-related charges after a lengthy investigation by York Regional Police.

Investigators say they launched Project Winnie in April, targeting alleged drug trafficking in Georgina and the surrounding area.

A suspect was arrested on Tuesday, and police executed search warrants at residences in Georgina and Barrie, along with two vehicles linked to the investigation.

Police say they seized suspected cocaine, Canadian cash and a loaded gun.

The accused, who is from Georgina, was on probation and subject to a weapons prohibition order at the time of the offence.
