17 year veteran of South Simcoe Police charged with fraud

Police say the officer and his wife are both facing charges

A South Simcoe Police officer has been charged with fraud following a three month investigation into employee benefits claims.

The 52 year old officer and his wife are both charged with fraud over $5,000, forgery and utter forged documents.

The officer is a 17-year veteran of the South Simcoe Police Service and has been suspended with pay.

“We hold our members to a high standard. These allegations are concerning but we must let the court process take its course.” said Chief Fletcher.

As the matter is now before the courts, the service will be making no further comments.
