Barrie’s jobless rate shed three-tenths of a percentage point last month over the month before, continuing a month-over-month downward trend.

Statistics Canada says last month’s unemployment rate fell to a seasonally adjusted 5.6 percent, down from nearly 6 percent in September.
Federally, the jobless rate didn’t budge, also at 5.6 percent, the same rate its been at since the summertime. On the provincial level, a slight decrease in unemployment, down one-tenth to 5.4 percent.
