401 cases added to Ontario COVID-19 case count for a total of 2,793 across the province including 16 more deceased

142 more people have recovered since yesterday

The province confirms sixteen more people have passed away due to COVID-19, bringing the total dead to 53. This represents the largest one day jump in the number of deceased to date.

Public Health Ontario confirms 401 more cases have been added to the provincial tally, bringing the province-wide case count to 2,793. The number of people who have recovered from the disease is listed at 831, which is an increase of 142 since Wednesday morning.

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is expected to detail the local case count at a 1:00 media conference.
