$5K item stolen from jewelry store at Tanger Outlets Cookstown

Police say the suspect may have been wearing a prosthetic nose

South Simcoe Police are trying to identify a man in connection with the theft of jewelry from a store at Tanger Outlets Cookstown located at Highway 89 and Highway 400.

Police say around 3 p.m. on March 18, 2023, the suspect took an item from a display case and allegedly placed it in his pocket and left without making any attempt to pay. The item is worth $5,000.

Investigators have released security camera images in an effort to identify the suspect, who may have been wearing a prosthetic nose.
