7 Things To Do With Your Kids This PA Day

Enjoy the day off with tons of activities for you and your kids!
PA Day

There are tons of things to do, places to be, and things to eat with your kids this PA Day!

Go To The Public Library

Both the Downtown and Painswick branch have tons of free events going on all the time and PA days are a perfect chance to check them out! On top of the other events, the libraries are also holding "PA Day Fun" with crafts, scavengers hunts and more. Also, check out our other article for more info on the different free events that are happening!

Watch A Movie

After you've finished having fun at the library, why not borrow a movie? Settle into your comfiest chair at home for a viewing of Incredible 2 or any of the other countless family-friendly movies you can borrow for free! If you still feel like venturing out, an afternoon matinee for Avengers: End Game or a flashback viewing of Raiders Of The Lost Ark will have you on the edge of your seats! Don't forget the popcorn!

Go For A Walk

We are certainly spoiled when it comes to views in Barrie. From Heritage Park to Minet's Point and the other all the parks and beaches dotting our lakefront, there is almost nowhere in Barrie you couldn't simply park, pick a direction and start walking. Why not also bring some food and turn your walk into a picnic?

Breakfast, Lunch, And Dinner

Speaking of food, Barrie has almost too many options when it comes to delicious restaurants, cafes, and diners (okay, there is no such thing as "too many" food options). For breakfast, you can't go wrong with a mountain of pancakes from Wimpy's Diner or a crepe loaded with hame and cheese from Chavo Crepes. For Lunch, a grilled cheese sandwich from Grilled Cheese Social Eatery would surely hit the spot. Dinner is easy with a classic pie from Pie Wood Fired Pizza Joint. Don't worry, we didn't forget about dessert. Check out this article for a ton of Barrie's frozen treat options.

Bake

Fill your house with the smell of fresh goodies! Baking is a perfect way to have some fun with your kids (with bonus treats to boot). Chocolate chip cookies, brownies, cupcakes, and muffins are sure to fill your day with fun and your counter with snacks!

Play Sports

With so many students in the area having the day off, start organizing a sports day now! Knock a few balls out of the park with a baseball game at one of Barrie's Baseball Diamonds, rent a rink at the Barrie Ball Hockey Club, or swing some rackets and fall in "love", with a match of tennis.

Home Alone Course

St. John Ambulance is hosting a course for children 10 years or older to give them the tools they need to be alone for short periods of time. Recognizing hazards, basic first aid, phones calls, and visitors will all be covered. The course costs $45 and you can check out all the details here. Sign up and make Macaulay Culkin proud!

Take advantage of your kids long weekend with these fantastic activities!
