Man fined for hunting moose without licence in Muskoka

A Mississauga man plead guilty on November 5 in a Bracebridge court to hunting a moose calf without a licence near Huntsville.

The incident occurred on October 21, 2024 when a member of his hunting party harvested a calf moose that morning despite the guilty party not having claimed or purchase his licence. He then tried to cover up the violation by purchasing a tag from an issuer after the fact, which was then invalidated.

As a result of his plea, the man was fined $1,500.
