A late‑night traffic stop in Orillia turned into a drug seizure after Ontario Provincial Police pulled over a vehicle near West Street South and Barrie Road just after 12:30 a.m. on March 3.
According to the OPP, the officer initiated the stop after witnessing a Highway Traffic Act offence. Once the vehicle was pulled over, all passengers were identified—and police say each was found to be breaching criminal conditions.
During the arrests, officers located a quantity of suspected Hydromorphone pills inside the vehicle. All three individuals were transported to the Orillia OPP detachment for further investigation.
The accused are facing a range of charges under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, including:
- Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Obstructing a peace officer
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Failure to comply with a release order
- Possession of a Schedule I substance (cocaine)
The three were held in custody and appeared for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia on March 3.
