South Simcoe Police have laid a charge following a vandalism incident at the Islamic Centre in Innisfil earlier this month.
Police say the investigation stems from an incident April 10 in which spray paint was used to vandalize a religious site in the area of Innisfil Beach Road and Williard Avenue.
Investigators were able to identify a suspect and have since charged a 66-year-old Innisfil man with mischief to religious property under $5,000.
He has a court date in July.
Police thank the public for their assistance with this investigation.
