An eagle-eyed Barrie police officer spotted a bicycle being ridden on Dunlop Street West near Mary Street on Wednesday afternoon that matched the description of one reported stolen a few days earlier.

Police say the officer stopped the cyclist and told him the bicycle had been reported stolen and placed the man in custody.

During a search, police say they found suspected drugs on the man, including three golf ball-sized substances believed to be crack cocaine. Officers also located a significant amount of Canadian cash.

A 39-year-old from Barrie is facing multiple charges, including possession of drugs for trafficking (methamphetamine/cocaine), possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
