A 13-year-old Brampton boy is facing multiple charges after a police pursuit ended in Gravenhurst early Monday.

Bracebridge OPP say they were alerted by Peel Regional Police around 3:30 a.m. about a youth who had allegedly taken the vehicle of his parents in Brampton and was believed to be heading toward Gravenhurst to meet some friends.

Officers located the vehicle near Lofty Pines Drive and attempted a traffic stop, but police say the driver attempted to flee the area.

He was held in custody and is to appear for a bail hearing on Monday.
